East Lothian Proposed Local Development Plan - Draft Development Briefs
Overview
The Council has published its proposed East Lothian Local Development Plan (LDP). This is the Council’s settled view as to what the final adopted content of the Local Development Plan for the area should be. The proposed plan comprises a development strategy for the future development of East Lothian to 2024 and beyond, a detailed policy framework for guiding development and proposals maps. It sets out where new development should and should not occur, including new housing, education, economic and retail development, new transport links, and other infrastructure. The plan is currently out for representation (see consultation links below).
This consultation is on the proposed Draft Development Briefs (see links below), part of a range of supporting documents. Draft Development Briefs have been prepared for some of the sites contained in the Proposed Local Development Plan. The Development Briefs will shape development on those sites.
Your views will be considered by the planning authority before the Development Briefs are finalised.
Should you have any issues or need clarification on the process and/or how to submit a representation to the proposed Local Development Plan or a consultation response on the (list consultation docs), please contact the Policy and Projects team on 01620 827216 before making a submission.

We are seeking your comments on how these sites should be developed as expressed through the draft Development Briefs.
